The Boiler Room
The Boiler Room was a LAN cafe based just outside of Charlestown Square from 2002-2005. Run by the legendary Heath and May, they offered the latest PC and console games on high-end gaming machines and a clean and friendly environment to play against each other. They had a 1mb symmetrical internet connection, which was pretty hot stuff for the time.
The Boiler Room could be found on Smart Street, just off the Pacific Highway in Charlestown and just outside the entrance to Charlestown Square, right next door to Brumby’s Bakery (a shop which is currently occupied by Stash House Clothing).
