Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at contact@playtopia.com.au if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Each person may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions is prohibited.

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Post, upload, or share content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Harass, bully, or intimidate other users.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Cheat, hack, or use unauthorised software or exploits in competitive features (tournaments, ladders).
• Engage in conduct that we reasonably consider to be detrimental to the Platform, its reputation, or its community.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform without prior written consent.
• Violate any applicable Australian or international law or regulation.

You retain ownership of content you create on the Platform (forum posts, guides, community posts, etc.). By posting content, you grant Playtopia a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.

You are solely responsible for any content you post. We do not endorse user-generated content and are not liable for it. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, without notice.

Playtopia is a community for gamers of all backgrounds. We have a zero-tolerance policy for:

• Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any other form of discrimination.
• Hate speech, slurs, or dehumanising language.
• Threats, doxxing, or sharing of another person's private information without consent.
• Sexual content involving minors.

Violations may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination at our sole discretion.

Participation in Playtopia tournaments, ladders, and competitive events is subject to additional rules published for each event. In the case of any conflict, the specific event rules take precedence over these general Terms within that event's context.

Tournament decisions made by Playtopia administrators are final. Disputes should be raised through the official dispute process outlined in each event's rules.

All Platform content, branding, software, design, and functionality — excluding user-generated content — is owned by or licensed to Playtopia and is protected by Australian copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our proprietary content without our prior written permission.

Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. These include guarantees that services will be provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any such statutory rights.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Playtopia and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users or for third-party content linked from the Platform.

The Platform may integrate with or link to third-party services (e.g. Steam, Discord). Your use of such services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or their handling of your data.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, harmful behaviour toward other users, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. We will endeavour to notify you of the reason where possible and practical.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at contact@playtopia.com.au.

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland for the resolution of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform.
