The End of the Sun built its world from real Polish museum pieces

The End of the Sun is a first-person adventure set in Slavic folklore, where you play an Ashter, a fire mage investigating an abandoned village. Its developers partnered with Polish ethnographic museums, including the Open-Air Museum in Szymbark, scanning hundreds of real historical objects and buildings with photogrammetry and building quests around them rather than just using them as scenery. Xbox Wire says around 80% of the objects you find in the game came from those scans. It launched on Xbox Series X|S on 4 November at US$19.99.

PCGamesN: WoW Forever's launch day went fine, against the odds

PCGamesN wasn't expecting much from World of Warcraft Forever's launch day, since MMO launches are usually a mess, but says this one went well. Players on Reddit reported short queues with no lag or crashes, and only one early hiccup stopped some players picking their ruleset before Blizzard fixed it. A big pre-launch patch touched every class and improved controller support, and the article notes some players even found the opening areas a bit too empty, since the game spreads players across layers to avoid overcrowding.
