Penguin Colony pulls itself from sale in Israel

Origame Digital, the studio behind 2021's Umurangi Generation, has banned sale of its newly released Penguin Colony in Israel and used the game itself to call out the games industry over the Palestinian genocide. Umurangi Generation built its name on a similar streak of anti-colonial, anti-neoliberal commentary folded into a first-person photography game. Penguin Colony is Origame's second release.

Final Fantasy Resonance's Visions change how the party grows

Final Fantasy Resonance lands on PS5 on 22 October, and PlayStation Blog's gone deep on its Visions system. Visions are equippable companion assists, 26 of them pulled from across the Final Fantasy series (Cloud, Sephiroth, Lightning and Noctis among them) plus a few originals from Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Fighting with one earns mastery points that unlock further bonuses, and each Vision carries its own role, Breaker or Saboteur, so you shape a character's combat style rather than following one fixed growth path. The showiest bit is the Resonance finisher, a cinematic move that triggers once every enemy on screen is staggered at once.
